Well... we have to start somewhere, don't we?

Jonathan and I (Stephanie) are two peas in a pod. We met in high school in San Jose and moved to Davis for college. Since we've both graduated, we've had more time to pursue our shared interests in doing-it-ourselves, homemade things, and seeking small ways to reclaim the pioneer sense of self-sufficiency.

Six chickens, four ducks, three cats, a vegetable garden, a quilt, two batches of beer and lots of home-cooked meals since we've lived away from home, we decided to make this blog to document and showcase our projects on the way to our dream of owning a hobby farm "when we grow up."
